Seminar Highlights

Daily Coachings
The heart of the seminar. Four hours of faculty coachings each day, scheduled on a rotating basis so that each quintet works with every faculty member directly twice per week.

Weekly Plug-Ins
Faculty members sit in with participant ensembles to demonstrate concepts discussed in coachings. These sessions are open to observation by other participants and will happen exclusively outdoors in 2021.

Recorded performances
Participant ensembles give a culminating performance at the end of each week. The Atlantic Brass Quintet also performs two recitals at the seminar. All performances are video and audio recorded.

Masterclasses
Resident faculty and special guest artists/lecturers offer numerous masterclasses throughout the seminar on a variety of topics.

Weekly Instrument Classes
A special time to hang out with and learn from those who play your instrument.

Campus living
Participants and faculty share meals together on campus. Meat and produce are often locally sourced from Hampshire Farm. A variety of Covid-safe social activities will be organized throughout the seminar. Hampshire College is set in the beautiful Pioneer Valley, with scenic views of the Mt Holyoke Range and beautiful scenic walks accessible from campus. Please note that campus housing the meal plan are optional, and that commuting locally or alternate housing such as airbnb is encouraged.
