Seminar Components:
The Atlantic Brass Quintet International Brass Quintet Seminar is a two-week program of study for brass students and professionals designed to educate, inform, and develop brass player’s advanced musicality, performance technique, and collaborative skills. The program is open to individual brass students, as well as pre-formed brass quintets. Individual participants will be assigned to quintets based on their experience and ability.  Most components of the program occur between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with some evening faculty recitals and masterclasses.

Coachings - Each brass quintet will receive several hours of coaching in the morning and two and afternoon. Coachings are giving by facutly members on a rotating basis throughout the week. By the end of every Thursday, each quintet will have been coached by all ten members of the faculty, possibly multiple times.

- Early in the week, members of the faculty will play the music assigned to each student quintet. In addition to a demonstration and discussion of the challenges of the repertoire, students will also have the opportunity to play alongside members of the faculty.

- There are five performances during the seminar: the Atlantic Brass Quintet recital, the Triton Brass recital, the Tritantic Brass Ensemble recital and two student performance classes.

Guest Artists Masterclass
- This year the Atlantic Brass Seminar will host a masterclass presented by Sam Pilafian

Instrument Classes - One night during the two weeks, members of the faculty will present a masterclass for each instrument. These classes will be opportunities for students to perform and discuss their playing in an instrument-specific environment.

Business of Music Panel Discussion - Members of the faculty will hold an informal panel discussion about different aspects of the music business, including career advice, auditions, education, and performance topics.

Private Lessons
-  Faculty offer private lessons to those who are interested.

Coachings and Student Performances:
Participant quintets receive daily coachings, guided by a member of the ABQ, TBQ, or guest artist, in preparation for each week’s performance class. Quintets will receive written commentary from their faculty, as well as an opportunity to view a video recording of their performance.

Faculty: Atlantic Brass Quintet, Triton Brass Quintet, John Faieta and guest artists.
